The move from analog to digital is a transition between ritual and precision. By leaving the reel, we lost the physical texture of the grain and the "mandatory" patience of developing, but we gained the freedom to capture the invisible and an almost infinite technical capacity. In digital we gain absolute control; In analogue, we preserve the soul of the unpredictable.

Located in the port of Punta del Este, Maldonado, Uruguay, I found this sentry box, closed to the public, which gave me the opportunity to take a photograph with my analog camera. The colors coming from the negative accentuate its marked retro tendency, which makes it a nostalgic image, capable of transporting those who observe it to another time. It's incredible how in an everyday scene, like that closed shed, so much beauty can emerge, evoking feelings of nostalgia and enchantment. El Muelle con un destino

A dock or a hallway to walk along, a marked path that invites you to continue moving forward, does nothing but delight my eyes when looking for an approach. As if, in the distance, there was a glimpse of a goal, a destination, a place to reach. This photograph evokes a sense of continuity, a journey that is not only seen, but also felt. El gato malhumorado

There he was, enjoying the sun, and I, with my analog camera, was bothering him, looking for the best focus, something that would highlight his peace, his darkness, his stealth. The lines of the environment, which originate from the sides, direct the gaze to the center, where he was. The composition seems fantastic to me, even though it was just a simple cat enjoying the sun. We can only appreciate the wonders that the camera captures later, when we observe them closely. Castillo del Parque Rodó

The Parque Rodó castle, located in the city of Montevideo, or rather, the María Stagnero de Munar Library, is an imposing structure that dates back to 1930. A few years later, on the outskirts of the castle, the monument to William Tell, a figure of Swiss independence, was inaugurated. It is made of bronze and granite by José Belloni, who donated it to the Swiss community for its centenary in Uruguay. Today it is named after María Stagnero de Munar, who was a prominent Uruguayan teacher who founded the Instituto Normal de Señoritas, where primary school teachers were trained.
