Mi tierra, Uruguay

Photography in Uruguay is a constant dialogue with the stillness of our mountains. Capturing that relief of stone and horizon is not only about searching for the perfect frame, but about honoring the roots and pulse of the land we inhabit. In each shot, the landscape stops being a setting and becomes an identity, reminding us that portraying our surroundings is the most honest way to find ourselves.
Rinconcitos escondidos

Rinconcitos escondidos

I love finding these open and beautiful spaces, where nature overwhelms me. This is what I look for in each photograph: to see and feel the air of that place on our face. I found this imposing place on Cerro Catedral, Maldonado, Uruguay, the highest point in the country with about 500 meters above sea level. Every visit to places like this is an opportunity to renew our spirit and remember the importance of protecting and preserving nature. It is a reminder that, although we may be small compared to the greatness of the earth, each of us has the power to make a difference and contribute to a more sustainable and balanced world.

Another impressive snapshot of Cerro Catedral, Uruguay. It is a magical place to explore and discover. Although the property is private, it can be visited and it is not very far from the local road that leads to it. I spent a very entertaining day looking for the most exciting frames. It is an experience that is much more enjoyable with a camera in hand.

La majestuosidad de Rosario Colonia

La majestuosidad de Rosario Colonia

This is one of those places that I found almost by chance. It is a place located in the city of Rosario, Colonia, very close to Montevideo. When I arrived at the place, it was cloudy, but after a while, the sun made its appearance, giving me the opportunity to portray the beauty of this place. That old bridge in the background and the contrast of the green grass create a spectacular snapshot in my eyes.

Allí, de paso!

Allí, de paso!

There he was, passing through that place. It was an opportunity that I found very interesting to take out my camera. I rushed in, changed the lens to the long-range lens, adjusted the settings, and in no time everything was ready. The rest is history. The place was Rosario, Colonia, Uruguay.

Viejo puente de un ferrocarril

Viejo puente de un ferrocarril

This old bridge today bears witness to the passage of time. Originally built to withstand the passage of a railroad loaded with raw materials ready to be processed, today it is part of the memory. It shows us how at some point progress was booming and industrialization was an important support for this town. Now, this forgotten bridge in Rosario, Colonia, does nothing but beautify a spectacular landscape.

Espacio para recargar las energias

Espacio para recargar las energias

Not far from Montevideo is this place. Even near the cities, there are places like this that provide us with an escape from our routines. It is a space to think and recharge our batteries to continue with our lives, something very necessary nowadays.

Cantera Carrara

Cantera Carrara

This is the result of soil erosion over many years. It is an imposing mineral quarry, in which one of its areas can no longer be excavated because there is nothing left to remove. Today, it serves as a fascinating landscape for the most curious. A spectacular place for a getaway. It is located in Maldonado, Uruguay.

Afrontando lo que venga!

Afrontando lo que venga!

This is one of my favorite photos, a snapshot that conveys firmness and strength in the face of inclement weather. There is that tree, leafless, almost dry, enduring the climate and the desolation of its surroundings. The camera captured this scene perfectly. It is located in El Pinar, Canelones, Uruguay.
