Mi tierra, Uruguay

  • 🇺🇸 EN
Photography in Uruguay is a constant dialogue with the stillness of our mountains. Capturing that relief of stone and horizon is not only about searching for the perfect frame, but about honoring the roots and pulse of the land we inhabit. In each shot, the landscape stops being a setting and becomes an identity, reminding us that portraying our surroundings is the most honest way to find ourselves.
Historias que contar

Historias que contar

This tree will have a thousand stories to tell. At one time, it was covered in green vegetation. Today it lies dry, in an arid environment, where it is difficult to get what it needs so much: water. However, it reminds us of the strength we must have in difficult times and how to face them with determination. No matter his worn appearance, he is there for us to learn from his resilience.

Carrara and company

Carrara and company

Another snapshot of the Carrara Quarry, in Maldonado, Uruguay, very close to Pan de Azúcar. It is a place with a nice viewpoint, perfect to spend some time and have some mates. Its imposing beauty overwhelms us and reminds us how an area that was once conceived to be undermined, today is the habitat of birds and other species. A marvel without equal.

Grandeza

Grandeza

At some point you gave us shade, at some point your leaves were green. Today, the passage of time and the inclemencies have defeated you. However, your strong trunk keeps you present, reminding us of the strength we find in your nature. Thank you for transmitting to us what we need so much.

Apacible

Apacible

The definition of "gentle" is good-tempered, calm, pleasant. Well, that's what I find in this snapshot, something that conveys a sum of things to me. Deep down, it reminds me of what is wonderful about nature: its ability to offer us moments of peace and serenity, even in the midst of the daily hustle and bustle. It is a reminder of the importance of stopping and appreciating the beauty that surrounds us, and finding calm and solace in the landscapes that the natural world gives us.

La bici y el cielo

La bici y el cielo

How lucky I was to be there at that precise moment! The view struck on my right, a conjunction of the sky, the sea and the bicycle on the sand made up a magical postcard. ¡Qué suerte la mía de estar allí, qué suerte tener mi cámara! Each click captured the essence of that unrepeatable moment, a treasure that I will keep forever in my memories. Nature, once again, gave me an ephemeral work of art, but eternally engraved in my heart.

Terminando la tarde

Terminando la tarde

I witnessed that moment as the afternoon came to an end, enjoying its peace and tranquility while waiting for night to fall. Another day of fishing and exploring is behind us. Now, the soft evening light creates a dance that invites you to rest. Tomorrow will be another day full of new opportunities!

El Plumacho

El Plumacho

Plumacho, as it is called in the Río de la Plata, is a plant that is found everywhere. It has a very particular grace, very different from other types of green plants, which adds a distinctive touch to the landscape. However, photographing it in a way that we get a proper composition can be challenging. Another day of photographs, another learned experience.

En tu momento de paz

En tu momento de paz

I was able to catch you in your moment of inner peace, enjoying your hobby, fishing. Thank you for allowing me to be part of that moment. I don't know if you realized that I was back there with my camera, waiting to achieve a spectacular composition. I think the result speaks for itself. I took this photograph in Punta del Este, Maldonado, Uruguay.
