Insta360 X6

The Insta360 X6 is a next-generation 360 camera built to capture immersive scenes with more detail and more room for reframing. Its imaging system combines 8K 1-Inch Imaging, dual custom Sony sensors, a triple AI chip system, 360° recording up to 8K50p, and single-lens flat modes up to 5K60p or 4K120p ultra-wide. In practical use it adds a 196 g body, a 2.32-inch OLED touchscreen, 47 GB usable onboard storage, microSD support, a replaceable 2600 mAh battery, 30 W fast charging, and waterproof operation down to 66 ft.

Photographically, the X6 matters because it makes 360 capture more useful for real production rather than only experimental clips. The camera records 120 MP 360° photos and 42 MP flat photos, while 8K video, PureVideo, Bullet Time, high-resolution timelapse and FlowState with Horizon Lock let creators record the full scene first and decide the framing later. That approach reduces pressure during capture: the camera can be mounted in the middle of the action and later reframed into vertical, horizontal or ultra-wide versions.

Its clearest uses are travel, action sports, motorcycling, snow, cycling, vlogging, city walks, behind-the-scenes work, immersive media and fast social production. Wi‑Fi 6, NFC and USB 3.1, together with replaceable lenses, longer battery life and AI-assisted editing tools, make it easier to record, transfer and publish with less friction.
