Nikon COOLPIX P1100

The Nikon COOLPIX P1100 (COOLPIXP1100) is the successor to the legendary P1000 and keeps its defining trait: a 125x optical zoom equivalent to 24-3000mm, extendable to 250x with Dynamic Fine Zoom. The 16-megapixel back-side illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor in 1/2.3-inch format carries over, but Nikon refines the experience with a modern USB-C port, WPA3-SAE Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.1, leaving behind the original model's older standards.

Dual Detect Optical VR stabilization delivers 4 stops of compensation under the updated CIPA standard. Framing relies on a 2,359K-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and a 3.2-inch vari-angle screen at 921K dots, without touch functionality. It records 4K UHD video at 30p with clean HDMI output, adds an accessory shoe compatible with Speedlights and the DF-M1 Dot Sight, and gains new modes like Fireworks Scene Mode and adjustable long-exposure noise reduction.

Weighing 1410 grams with an EN-EL20a battery rated at 250 CIPA shots, the P1100 still targets birdwatchers, astrophotographers and nature photographers who need extreme reach without swapping lenses. Launched in 2025 at $1,099.95 USD, it represents a connectivity and ergonomics update over the P1000 while keeping the same optical formula that made it famous.
