GoPro MISSION 1 PRO Firmware 4.01

Official firmware update 4.01 for the GoPro MISSION 1 PRO camera adding zero-lag Rapid Photo capture, continuous RAW burst shooting, and gallery fixes.

Description

The GoPro MISSION 1 PRO Firmware 4.01 is an essential system software update released by GoPro to significantly elevate the still photography capabilities of the high-performance GoPro MISSION 1 PRO camera. At the forefront of this release is the Rapid Photo capture architecture, which eliminates shutter lag entirely. The shutter response becomes instantaneous upon pressing the release button, providing the split-second timing required by professional documentary filmmakers, sports photographers, and expedition creators.

In addition to zero shutter lag, the GoPro MISSION 1 PRO Firmware 4.01 activates continuous burst shooting across standard photo modes and full-resolution uncompressed RAW captures. By holding down the shutter release, users can shoot continuous sequences exceeding 100 frames at 12 megapixels or more than 20 consecutive 50-megapixel exposures, guided by a dedicated on-screen buffer depth gauge and an acoustic shutter click. The update also improves media gallery responsiveness and addresses minor system issues across playback menus.

This software release reinforces the camera’s status as a formidable hybrid tool, maximizing the utility of its 1-inch 50-megapixel sensor alongside 10-bit GP-Log2 workflows and 8K Open Gate video capture. The GoPro MISSION 1 PRO Firmware 4.01 seamlessly pairs with the new tools in the companion MISSION Monitor app for iOS and iPadOS, unlocking professional exposure overlays like false color and waveform monitors. The update can be downloaded via the GoPro Quik mobile application or manually flashed using a formatted microSD card.
