The Fujifilm XF18mmF1.4 R LM WR is a wide-angle prime for the Fujifilm X system. It combines an 18mm focal length with a bright f/1.4 maximum aperture, linear-motor autofocus and dust- and weather-resistant construction. Its optical design uses 15 elements in 9 groups, including aspherical and extra-low-dispersion elements, plus a nine-blade diaphragm. The aperture ring gives direct exposure control without taking the eye away from the scene.

On APS-C it provides an approximately 27mm full-frame-equivalent angle of view. The fast aperture helps keep ISO lower indoors and at night, while also allowing depth-of-field control for close foreground subjects. A 0.20m minimum-focus distance and 0.15x maximum magnification support close, perspective-led compositions, although this is not a macro lens. The focal length is wide enough to describe a setting while avoiding the more emphatic visual stretch associated with an ultra-wide lens.

It is particularly suited to landscape, architecture, travel, documentary work and astrophotography with Fujifilm X cameras.
