Pros & Cons
Pros
- Minimal distortion (Zero-D): Almost no distortion of straight lines, which saves a lot of time in architectural editing.
- Extreme Angle of View: This is one of the widest lenses available for the GFX system (13.5mm equivalent).
- Use of circular filters: Unlike other ultra wide angles, it allows you to use common 86 mm filters directly.
- Premium construction: Very robust and durable metal body.
- Defined stars of light: Thanks to its 5 blades, it generates "sunstars" with 10 very clean points.
- Close focus: Allows you to get up to 20 cm to highlight subjects in the foreground.
Cons
- Manual focus: It does not have an autofocus (AF) motor.
- No communication with the camera: As it does not have electronic contacts, it does not save EXIF data (aperture or lens model) in the photo.
- Weight and size: It is a heavy lens (over 800g), which can unbalance smaller GFX bodies.
- Vignetting: Darkening is noticeable in the corners when shooting at maximum apertures, which is common at these angles.
- f/4 aperture: Although it is standard for this type of lens, it is not especially "fast" for night photography without a tripod.
