Pros & Cons
Pros
- f/2.8 a 28mm aperture: Unique in its category, allowing better low light photos at the beginning of the range.
- Surprising optical quality: Much sharper than a traditional superzoom usually is.
- Lightweight and compact: It only weighs 575g, making it very comfortable to wear all day.
- Moisture Sealed: Rugged construction for outdoor use.
- Minimum focusing distance: Allows you to take very interesting close-up photos (0.19m a 28mm).
- 67mm filter diameter: Consistent with the rest of the Tamron family.
Cons
- Without optical stabilization (VC): It depends entirely on the IBIS of the camera, which is noticeable when shooting a 200mm.
- Quick opening closure: The f/2.8 is only maintained in the first millimeters of the range.
- 28mm angular range: It can feel somewhat closed for very wide landscapes compared to a 24mm.
- No physical buttons: Lacks AF/MF switches or customizable buttons on the barrel.
