Summary

The NIKKOR Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena is a full-frame telephoto prime for Nikon Z mount. Nikon presents it as a 135mm f/1.8 lens within the S-Line, built for photographers who want high-end optical performance and especially refined rendering in out-of-focus areas. With its classic portrait focal length, fast aperture and premium positioning, the lens is clearly aimed at users who prioritize clean subject separation, controlled perspective and a polished visual signature.

In practical full-frame use, a 135mm f/1.8 occupies a very distinctive place in a lens lineup. It gives the photographer comfortable working distance, flattering compression and strong background isolation for portraits, details and medium framing. That makes it especially attractive for directed portrait sessions, weddings, fashion, backstage work and any scene where a tighter, more deliberate perspective is preferable to an 85mm. Because it is a native Nikon Z autofocus lens, it also becomes more flexible for fast-paced work than many manual-focus or adapted 135mm alternatives.

This lens should be especially appealing for portraits, weddings, editorial photography, selective events and calmer sports coverage where image character matters more than extreme reach. The f/1.8 aperture also expands its usefulness indoors and in available light, helping maintain soft backgrounds and gradual blur transitions. Several hard-spec details remain unconfirmed in the sources used here, including complete optical construction, exact weight, precise dimensions, minimum focus distance and bundled accessories, so those fields stay open until stronger evidence is available.
