Summary

The Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 from Nikon is an ultra-compact standard zoom lens designed specifically for full-frame Nikon Z mount mirrorless cameras. Weighing a mere 195g and measuring only 51mm in length when fully retracted, this lens represents one of the smallest and lightest full-frame standard zoom options available on the market. Its versatile focal length span of 24-50mm easily covers wide scenic vistas, environmental street scenes, casual travel moments, and natural everyday snapshots without weighing down the photographer.

Internally, the optical formula consists of 11 elements arranged in 10 groups, incorporating 2 ED glass elements and 3 aspherical elements to thoroughly suppress optical aberrations, distortion, and chromatic fringing throughout the entire zoom range. Nikon's proprietary Super Integrated Coating (SIC) maintains rich contrast and colour accuracy while preventing flare and ghosting under difficult lighting. Autofocus is driven by a fast, smooth, and near-silent stepping motor (STM), which pairs with suppressed focus breathing and a customizable control ring to deliver seamless operation for both high-resolution stills and handheld 4K video recording.

Further enhancing its practical versatility are a dependable dust and drip resistant sealing, a close minimum focusing distance of 350mm across the focal range, and a compact 52mm front filter thread. With its clever buttonless retractable barrel mechanism, the Nikon NIKKOR Z 24-50mm f/4-6.3 delivers a superb balance of genuine full-frame optical performance and go-anywhere convenience for everyday creators.
