Summary

The Voigtländer NOKTON 23mm f/1.2 Aspherical for Fujifilm X is a bright manual-focus prime designed around APS-C sensors. Its 23mm focal length gives a field of view close to a 35mm lens on full frame, making it a natural fit for street work, travel, documentary projects and everyday photography. The Silver version keeps the lens small at 43.8mm long, 59.3mm in diameter and 214g, so it pairs neatly with compact Fujifilm bodies while still feeling like a serious mechanical optic.

The optical design uses 10 elements in 6 groups, including one double-sided aspherical element and two anomalous partial-dispersion elements, a specification aimed at maintaining resolution and controlling aberrations at wide apertures. A 12-blade diaphragm is used for rounded blur, and the mechanical aperture ring works in 1/3-stop clicks for direct exposure control. It does not provide autofocus or optical stabilization, but electronic contacts support EXIF data, focus checking and body communication on compatible Fujifilm cameras.

In use, this lens is for photographers who like deliberate manual focus and want a fast, compact tool for atmosphere-rich images. The 0.18m minimum focus distance and 1:4.9 maximum reproduction ratio open the door to close details, environmental portraits and layered scenes with generous background blur. A 46mm filter thread and included screw-in hood keep the kit simple, while the classic handling suits street, documentary, wedding detail work, travel and low-light walkaround photography.
