Funny how photography found its way into my life. There was a time I wouldn’t have given it a second thought—maybe when you’re young, you’re too busy chasing other dreams and exploring different paths. But it was only later, as routines set in, interests faded, goals seemed farther, and personal growth started kicking in, that I stumbled onto this journey.
My mom played a big role in shaping me, sharing her tastes and passions with me along the way. I have this vivid memory of her holding a camera—nothing fancy, just a simple digital one. Little did I know, it was a clue about what would come. Today, I carry that little camera in my bag, calling it the “Digicam.” Every time I pick it up, a wave of memories, bits of advice, and all those life lessons she passed on flood back to me. That camera, barely holding on, is way more than just an object; it’s a reminder that she’s still here with me, guiding me, just like when she taught me to take my first steps.
Now, I try to share the path of photography with others, especially with those looking for a break, a connection to something that brings them joy. Helping people find that grounding passion brings me a deep sense of fulfillment. Even though my own path isn’t fully laid out and there’s still work to do, I feel like I’m headed in the right direction.
Though she’s no longer here, she keeps lighting my path. And more than anything, I hope to light the way for others, just like she did for me.
