Ricoh GR IVx

The Ricoh GR IVx is a fixed-lens compact officially announced by Ricoh Imaging as a new member of the GR series. Its concept centers on a newly developed GR lens with a 40mm-equivalent angle of view, setting it apart from the 28mm Ricoh GR IV and clearly targeting photographers who prefer a tighter everyday perspective in a pocketable body. From a photographic point of view, the official information already points to a camera meant to preserve the core GR values of portability, quick response and strong image quality in a very small package. That move to 40mm makes it especially interesting for environmental portraiture, street work, urban scenes, daily documentary shooting and other situations where a longer-normal field of view can feel more natural than a wide-angle alternative.

Because the full launch has not happened yet and Ricoh says release timing is planned for winter 2026 or later, this entry should be read as an official development-stage presentation with some commercial details still pending. Even so, the published specifications already position the GR IVx as a meaningful evolution for photographers who want a serious, discreet and very direct fixed-lens compact.
