Leica Vario-Elmarit-SL Firmware 1.1.0
Leica firmware 1.1.0 for the Vario-Elmarit-SL 28-70 and 70-200: compatibility and stabilisation improvements.
Leica SL3 Firmware 4.2.0 is the firmware update 4.2.0 published by Leica for the Leica SL3 family (SL3 and SL3-S). It replaces the previous release and is distributed from the manufacturer's official downloads page, which also carries the version documentation.
The release adds False Color for video, HDMI duplication with the user interface, vehicle detection through autofocus and support for the Noctilux-M 35 f/1.2 ASPH.; it also improves video format selection, the Leica Looks interface, electronic shutter response, tracking display and full-screen playback.
Installation happens on the device itself, not from a computer: download the file, copy it to a formatted memory card, insert the card in the device and follow the menu procedure. Before starting, check the installed version; if it already matches 4.2.0, the operation adds nothing.
Use a charged battery during the process, do not switch the device off and do not remove the card, then review the settings once it finishes. Leica SL3 Firmware 4.2.0 can be installed straight over earlier versions without intermediate steps.
It is worth updating before an important session rather than in the middle of a job: the camera is out of service for a few minutes and settings may need a check. If the camera is used with several lenses or accessories, reviewing the settings after the update helps confirm everything behaves as before. Leica recommends keeping firmware current to avoid faults that have already been fixed.
