Summary

The Samyang AF 28-135mm f/2.8 from Samyang (LK Samyang) is an upcoming and highly anticipated constant-aperture standard-to-telephoto zoom lens designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras, uniting an expansive focal range with a fast constant f/2.8 maximum aperture. Positioned as a versatile all-in-one professional zoom, preliminary manufacturer teasers indicate a revolutionary optical solution that extends beyond traditional 24-70mm zooms while maintaining bright light transmission for seamless transitions between wide storytelling and compressed portraiture.

Engineered for high-resolution modern sensors, the internal formula of the Samyang AF 28-135mm f/2.8 incorporates 20 optical elements arranged in 16 groups, crafted to maintain sharpness, contrast, and color fidelity across the entire focal spread. Autofocus is driven by a high-torque Voice Coil Motor (VCM) linear drive system, engineered to deliver lightning-fast, silent, and highly responsive focus tracking crucial for wedding coverage, documentary storytelling, commercial events, and cinematic video work.

Featuring a robust weather-sealed barrel, a manageable weight of approximately 854 grams, an extending length from 151mm to 190mm at full telephoto, and a standard 82mm front filter thread, the Samyang AF 28-135mm f/2.8 delivers an exceptional balance of mechanical reliability and creative agility. Slated for an early 2027 market launch, this lens represents an ambitious choice for creators seeking an all-purpose fast zoom without compromising optical speed.
