Summary

The TTArtisan AF 85mm f/1.8 Neo is a fast, full-frame medium telephoto portrait prime lens with autofocus engineered for Sony E, Nikon Z, and Leica L-Mount mirrorless camera systems. Developed by TTArtisan as a cornerstone of its lightweight Neo series, this lens makes the classic 85mm portrait perspective broadly accessible to creators, hobbyists, and working photographers by pairing a bright f/1.8 maximum aperture with a featherweight 335-gram chassis and an extraordinary launch price of just $99.

The optical formula incorporates 12 elements organized in 8 groups, featuring two Extra-low Dispersion (ED) elements and two high-refractive-index elements to rigorously suppress chromatic aberrations, color fringing, and spherical distortion across the entire image plane. Its 11-blade circular diaphragm renders creamy, harmonious out-of-focus background highlights with smooth transition gradients, delivering flattering subject isolation for beauty, fashion, editorial portraits, and environmental storytelling.

Autofocus performance is driven by a responsive and quiet STM stepping motor that seamlessly supports modern real-time eye and face tracking algorithms in both high-resolution stills and handheld video recording. Embracing the streamlined aesthetic of the Neo philosophy, the sleek lens barrel intentionally omits mechanical focus and aperture rings to maximize portability and structural simplicity, allowing photographers to adjust aperture and shooting parameters effortlessly via the camera body dials.
