Fringer EF-NZ Series Firmware v2.40
Autofocus refinements and expanded lens compatibility for Nikon Z
The Fringer NF-GFX Firmware v1.60 update introduces key performance and compatibility enhancements for photographers adapting Nikon F-mount lenses onto Fujifilm GFX medium format cameras. This firmware update refines phase-detection autofocus (PDAF) response times, enhances focus acquisition accuracy across single and continuous focus modes, and delivers smoother subject tracking during demanding commercial, landscape, and portrait photography sessions.
A critical highlight of this release is the refined electronic aperture control for both modern electromagnetic E-type lenses and mechanical G-type/D-type Nikkor optics via the adapter's integrated aperture servo motor. Furthermore, communication between the lens optical Vibration Reduction (VR) system and the in-body image stabilization (IBIS) of modern GFX bodies has been improved, ensuring maximum handheld sharpness across varied lighting scenarios.
The installation procedure is straightforward using the built-in micro-USB connection port on the adapter housing, requiring no separate docking hardware or proprietary utilities. Full EXIF metadata is transmitted accurately to the camera body, ensuring proper focal length recognition, aperture reporting, and correct application of optical correction profiles in high-resolution medium format photography.
