Leica Q3 Series Firmware v4.1.0
Firmware v4.1.0 update for Leica Q3, Q3 43 and Q3 Monochrom with autofocus display refinements, portrait playback fixes and color-matrix improvements for DNG workflows.
Leica launched the firmware 4.1 for the Q3, Q3M and Q343 cameras with a focus on everyday usability and stability improvements. The update removes the BP-SCL4 battery warning When turned on, it adds the manual focus-only peaking option and displays the AF mode in the status bar, preventing flow changes during shooting. It also updates the AF tracking display with frame color changes and green marker to make it clearer when the system is locking accurately.
For those who work in photo and video, these changes help reduce friction in long sessions with little margin for error. Visual tracking AF makes it easy to react faster to moving subjects, while the manual focus interface option speeds up operator response in action situations or fine adjustments. Updating DNG matrices also has a positive impact in post-production, as it improves color consistency when processing in external software, where pipeline differences are usually more visible.
The recommendation is to update the Q3, Q3M either Q343 when flow allows and then validate the most demanding trip tests. It is especially useful for those who use frequent user profiles, work with hybrid AF, and want to minimize freeze pauses when changing settings. In practical terms, this firmware is suitable for those looking for a less disruptive and more predictable camera for reports, weddings or street shots with constant scene changes.
