Summary

The Sigma 150-600mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM Contemporary is a telephoto lens designed to offer massive reach without the prohibitive weight of extreme sports range optics. Its most valued feature is the balance between portability and optical performance, using low dispersion glasses (FLD and SLD) that guarantee sharp images with controlled chromatic aberrations. In addition, it has an intelligent stabilization system (OS) with accelerometer, ideal for capturing moving subjects, and a hypersonic motor (HSM) that ensures fast and silent focusing, also allowing instant manual adjustment even in AF mode. Regarding its uses, it is the favorite tool for wildlife, bird and outdoor sports photography enthusiasts, where the distance from the subject is the biggest challenge. Its versatility is enhanced by practical details such as the zoom lock on any focal length and its dust- and splash-sealed construction in the mount, making it reliable in field conditions. Being significantly lighter than its "Sports" version, it is the ideal choice for photographers who prefer to shoot handheld or take long walks in nature without sacrificing the professional quality of a super telephoto lens.
