Key photo software updates: ON1 Photo RAW 2027, Evoto 8.0, and EXIF privacy

The photography software landscape adds three releases aimed at optimizing initial RAW processing, expanding retouching into video workflows, and safeguarding the privacy of published images. The updates cover ON1 Photo RAW 2027, Evoto 8.0, and a free metadata cleaning utility by Camera Decision, alongside the agile proposal of NDPix Photo Editor.

Each solution addresses a specific stage of the workflow, combining artificial intelligence automation with local control tools and operational simplicity.

Updates in RAW processing, video, and data privacy

ON1 announced Photo RAW 2027 scheduled for release in November 2026. The version introduces a rebuilt RAW processing engine that improves color fidelity and base dynamic range. Its NoNoise AI module adds dedicated models for wildlife, portraiture, and astrophotography, while the MAX edition introduces a culling assistant that detects closed eyes and focus misses across extensive batches.

Meanwhile, Evoto 8.0 extends facial retouching into video productions through plugins for DaVinci Resolve and Adobe Premiere Pro. The system applies temporal tracking without flicker to refine hair shine and facial volume in moving shots, alongside introducing a story-based sorting workflow and a creator style marketplace.

In terms of security, Camera Decision released a free EXIF cleaner that runs entirely within the browser using ExifTool. The utility strips GPS coordinates and serial numbers across JPEG, HEIC, and TIFF formats without recompressing images or sending files to remote servers.

Software	Main feature	Workflow impact
