The Fujifilm GFX100 II IR (GFX100IIIR) is the factory infrared variant of the acclaimed GFX100 II, built on the same 102-megapixel back-illuminated medium format CMOS sensor (43.8 x 32.9mm), but with the IR-cut filter removed to capture near-infrared wavelengths beyond 780nm. It keeps the X-Processor 5 engine and all standard camera functionality: precise 425-point autofocus, a wide range of shooting modes, and direct computer tethering.
The weather-sealed body weighs 1030 grams with viewfinder attached and retains the base camera's 8-stop stabilization, plus the 9.44M-dot OLED electronic viewfinder and 3.2-inch tilting touchscreen. It records 8K/30p and 4K/60p video in 10-bit internal, and its Pixel Shift Multi-Shot function operates without false colors even in the infrared spectrum.
Priced at $10,499.95 USD for pre-order at B&H Photo, roughly $2,000 more than the standard GFX100 II, this camera targets forensics labs, scientific research and cultural preservation work, offering factory-validated IR profiles, proper autofocus calibration and warranty coverage that third-party conversions can't match. Announced in 2025, it recently moved from requiring a signed agreement directly with Fujifilm to standard retail pre-order availability.
