Sigma MOUNT CONVERTER MC-11 SA-E Firmware 1.28
Firmware 1.28 for MC-11 SA-E, fixing release lag during flash photography.
The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN Contemporary Sony E Firmware 07 updates Sigma’s APS-C Sony E prime to address a rare but serious issue seen with the Sony α7 V. Sigma states that, when this lens is used with that camera, the monitor could black out and the camera could freeze during shooting. For a bright 30mm lens with an f/1.4 aperture, often used for everyday photography, environmental portraits, lightweight video and low-light work, this kind of stability fix directly affects confidence in the kit.
For Sony E users, the update matters because the problem is not about optical quality but about communication between lens and body. A camera lock-up during a session can mean losing an unrepeatable still frame or interrupting a recording at exactly the wrong time. Firmware 07 is intended to make the 30mm f/1.4 DC DN behave more reliably with the Sony α7 V, especially in real shooting situations where autofocus, the monitor and electronic lens control are all active together.
Installation uses Sigma’s Lens System Software Updater for Windows or macOS with the lens attached to a compatible camera. Sigma advises using a fully charged battery or AC adapter, removing the memory card where required, setting USB connection to Mass Storage, connecting the camera to the computer by USB, running the updater and not turning off or disconnecting anything during transfer. After completion, restart the camera and lens, then confirm that the lens version is shown as Ver.07.
