The Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG II Art L-Mount Firmware 1.1 updates the L-Mount version of Sigma’s Art prime with one specific improvement: reduced focus motor noise. Sigma released this version on August 27, 2026 for the 35mm DG II Art in L-Mount. On a fast 35mm lens with an f/1.4 aperture, commonly used for environmental portraits, weddings, documentary work, street photography and low-light video, quieter focusing can matter when the camera is close to a microphone.

The update does not change the optics or add a visible feature, but it refines the day-to-day behavior of the 35mm f/1.4 DG II Art. For Sigma fp, Panasonic Lumix S and Leica SL users, lower focus motor noise can help with interviews, intimate scenes, behind-the-scenes clips, ceremonies and shots where natural sound is exposed. For stills, the same quieter operation adds discretion in places where mechanical noise stands out, which fits a fast 35mm used as a daily working lens.

Sigma offers two installation routes. Users can update in-camera through the product firmware page and the compatible body procedure, or use the SIGMA USB DOCK UD-11 connected to a computer with the latest SIGMA Optimization Pro.
