Fujifilm warns about PC AutoSave incompatibility with macOS 27 Golden Gate

Fujifilm warned of a critical compatibility issue in its PC AutoSave application when running on macOS 27 Golden Gate. The software fails to launch on both beta and final releases from Apple. This situation prevents automatic wireless backups to the computer.

FUJIFILM PC AutoSave was introduced in 2013 alongside the brand's first wireless-capable cameras, such as the FinePix F900EXR, X-M1, and X-E2. Its primary role is to automatically receive photos and videos over a Wi-Fi network. The utility saves files to a designated folder on the computer without requiring cables or removing the memory card.

Source of the issue and update timeline

Internal testing confirmed that the application closes immediately upon launch. This is not a network failure or a camera configuration error. The issue stems from an incompatibility preventing the software itself from running in the new operating system environment.

The Japanese company confirmed that a compatible version is under active development. Its official release is scheduled for November 2026.

Recommended workflows for the studio

In practice, photographers who rely on this automatic studio workflow should hold off on updating their production computers to macOS 27. While modern cameras use the XApp mobile application, many classic bodies from the X and GFX series still rely on PC AutoSave for wireless desktop dumping.

Until the patch arrives in November, the fastest and most reliable alternative is transferring files via an external USB card reader or connecting the camera directly via USB cable. For quick transfers of a few shots on supported models, the mobile app remains available.
