Leica M10

The Leica M10 is the digital rangefinder with which Leica gave the M series a slimmer body and more direct handling: a full-frame CMOS sensor, 24 × 36 mm and 24 megapixels (5976 × 3992 in DNG), a magnesium body with brass top and base plates, and 660 g with the battery. Focus is manual and relies on the 0.73x optical rangefinder, which shows the 35mm and 135mm, 28mm and 90mm or 50mm and 75mm frames depending on the lens mounted.

Behind it sits a 3-inch TFT screen with 1,036,800 dots, fixed and without touch control, and ISO runs from 100 to 50000. Bursts reach 5 fps with a 2 GB buffer that holds series of about 16 images, the mechanical shutter covers 8 s to 1/4000 s with B settings up to 125 s, and storage uses SD, SDHC and SDXC cards. The 1300 mAh BP-SCL5 battery charges outside the camera and the connection is Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n with WPA/WPA2 encryption. It does not record video.

This is a camera for street, reportage and documentary work, made for anyone who prefers setting exposure with dials rather than menus, and for shooting with M lenses already owned; the optional Visoflex adds an electronic viewfinder and GPS geotagging. Leica announced it on 18 January 2017 at a launch price of $6,495 for the body.
