The Leica M11 is the digital rangefinder from Leica that introduced the full-frame BSI-CMOS sensor with Triple Resolution Technology: 60.3 megapixels in 9528 × 6328 DNG files, and 36.5 or 18.4 megapixels in the medium and small settings, always using the whole sensor area. The Maestro III processor runs the camera and the black body weighs 530 g with the battery.
Focus is manual, with magnification and focus peaking as aids, and the 0.73x optical rangefinder shows the 35mm and 135mm, 28mm and 90mm or 50mm and 75mm frames depending on the lens mounted; the Visoflex 2 electronic viewfinder is sold separately. The 2.95-inch touchscreen with 2,332,800 dots is fixed. The mechanical shutter reaches 1/4000 s and the electronic one 1/16000 s, bursts reach 4.5 fps, ISO runs from 64 to 50000, and there is an SD UHS-II slot alongside 64 GB of internal memory.
It leaves out the low-pass filter and does not record video: this is a camera for street, reportage, documentary and portrait work, where the compact size for a full-frame sensor and manual focus invite you to work slowly and learn the focal length. The body measures 139 × 38.5 × 80 mm and works between 0 and 40 °C. Leica released it worldwide on 13 January 2022.
